Uber Announced its First Quarter Results
The world’s leading ride-hailing company announced its results for the quarter ended March 31st, 2019.
Uber stated that it earned $3.1B in quarterly revenue, and posted a $1B loss for the quarter. A few highlights include an increase to its monthly active user base which rose to 93 million users with total company gross bookings up 41% in the past year.
Intuit Looks to Acquire Origami Logic
The financial software company announced that it plans to acquire the marketing insights startup for an undisclosed amount. Origami Logic specializes in analyzing and acquiring insights from multiple datasets.
The acquisition looks to help Intuit accelerate its goals of becoming an artificial intelligence expert platform and will support the company in helping streamline data architecture and structures for its customers.
The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2019.
FedEx Plans to Deliver 7-Days a Week
The logistics company announced that the move will help serve the fast growing e-commerce market.
The company already offers 7-day delivery during the peak holiday season.
Its new residential delivery offering will continue year-round and will be available for a majority of the US population beginning in January 2020.
