Uber Launches a Monthly Subscription Plan
The company announced that it’s introducing Ride Pass, a monthly subscription plan that allows users to lock-in consistent rates during surge pricing periods affected by peak times and high-demand.
The plans start at $14.99 a month and will initially be available to 5 US cities.
The announcement comes after Lyft recently announced that it’s rolling out a monthly subscription package for riders using its service.
Waymo Gets the Green Light in California

The company announced that it has been granted a permit by the California DMV to begin driverless car testing.
Waymo stated that the permit is the result of “new DMV regulations that took effect in April, which allow companies to apply for fully driverless testing within carefully defined limits”.
Testing will commence in select areas including Mountain View, Sunnyvale, and Palo Alto.
Deliv, a Same-day Delivery Company Raises New Funds
The company announced that it has raised $40 million in a new Series C funding round from investors including Google, UPS, and Upfront Ventures.
According to a company press release, citing Business Insider Intelligence, same-day delivery is expected to reach approximately $55 billion in Gross Merchandise Volume by 2023.
The company powers same-day crowdsourced delivery for over 5,000 retailers and businesses across 35 markets and 1,400 cities.
