Grab Secures $1.46 Billion of Funding from Softbank’s Vision Fund
The Singapore-based ride-sharing company announced that it will use the new funds to focus on expanding its verticals in financial services, food delivery, parcel delivery, content and digital payments across Southeast Asia.
According to a company press release, the new raise from Softbank’s Vision Fund “brings the total financing secured in Grab’s current Series H round to over US$4.5 billion.”
Other participants in the round include the Microsoft Corporation, Booking Holdings, and the Toyota Motor Corporation.
Nestle Announces an Action Plan to End Deforestation in the Cocoa Supply Chain

Activities in the action plan include “mapping all 87,000 farms that are part of the Nestlé Cocoa Plan”, distributing and planting 2.8 million trees, and train approximately 70,000 farmers on good agricultural practices.
The company looks to achieve “deforestation-free commodities by 2020.”
SurveyMonkey Acquires Usabilla
The survey software company announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Usabilla, a web survey company, for $80 million comprised of cash and equity.
According to a press release, Usabilla collects, analyzes, and acts on real-time user feedback to help improve its client’s customer experience and products. The company works with more than 450 companies in 35 countries, which include global brands such as Vodafone, Philips, and Lufthansa.
The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of this year.
