Instagram Launches a New Shopping Feature
The social media platform announced that it’s rolling out a feature that enables its users to purchase items without leaving the app.
Instagram Checkout gives users the ability to click on a brand’s shopping post, choose item preferences such as size or color, and proceed to a payment page all within the Instagram app, enabling a frictionless shopping experience.
The feature is “currently in closed beta for businesses and available to people in the US.” Brands included in the initial rollout include Warby Parker, Nike, and Prada.
Starbucks Enhances its Rewards Loyalty Program
The specialty coffee retailer announced new updates to its loyalty program which include the ability for all Starbucks Rewards members to “earn Stars toward free Rewards from the day they join” and “No Star Expiration for Chase Credit/Debit Cardholders”.
As of December 2018, the company’s loyalty program has approximately 16 million active members, which is a 14% increase over the prior year.

The technology giant announced that it’s rolling out Stadia, a video gaming platform that instantly delivers access to popular “games on any type of screen—whether it’s a TV, laptop, desktop, tablet or mobile phone.”
Stadia is expected to launch later this year in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and much of Europe.
