Uber Picks Australia as the First International Market for its Urban Air Mobility Program

The on-demand ride sharing company announced that the city of Melbourne has been selected as the third official pilot city for Uber Air, its aerial ridesharing service.

Uber has already announced Los Angeles and Dallas as pilot cities for the program.

Test flights are expected to begin in 2020, with commercial operations planned for 2023.

H&R Block Looks to Acquire Wave Financial

The tax preparation company announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire the small business financial solutions company.

The $405 million all-cash deal is expected to boost H&R Block’s client portfolio, provide growth opportunities, and enhance its position in the small business market. According to a company press release, H&R Block expects the acquisition to generate “$40 to $45 million of revenue for fiscal 2020.”

The company expects the deal to close over the next few months.

Brex Raises $100 Million

The credit card startup closed a $100 million round of funding led by, the Kleiner Perkins Digital Growth Fund.

The San-Francisco based startup, which was founded in 2017, offers corporate cards specifically tailored to startups, enabling benefits such as 20x higher limits, expense management automation, and integrations with accounting systems.

The company plans to use the funds to enhance its product offering and expand into new customer segments.
