The automakers announced that they’re working together on a global alliance that looks to “boost competitiveness and better serve customers in an era of rapid change in the industry.”
Beginning in 2022, both companies plan to develop commercial vans and medium-sized pickups intended for the global market.
Nike Launches a Shoe that’s Powered by Your Phone
The sportswear company announced that it’s launching a new basketball shoe called Nike Adapt BB.
The new shoe uses a power-lacing system powered by a smartphone app to produce a multipurpose custom-fitted shoe. According to a company news release, the shoe uses a custom motor and gear to adjust the tension needed to keep a foot comfortable.
The shoe is expected to be available in February.
American Express Acquires a Restaurant Booking Company
The financial services company announced that it has acquired Pocket Concierge, “a premium restaurant reservation platform, that provides easy access to high-end restaurants in Japan.”
The acquisition looks to help American Express customers with access to over 800 premium restaurants in the country.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
