Amazon Web Services Teams up with Lyft
Amazon’s cloud technology platform announced that the on-demand transportation company will fully use the service to enable its businesses including self-driving technology, and on-demand bike and car sharing.
According to a company press release, Lyft facilitates over 50 million rides a month and will use AWS’s services including “database, serverless, machine learning, and analytics, to automate and enhance on-demand, multimodal transportation for riders and drive innovation in its autonomous vehicles business.”
Google Launches a Developer Space in Singapore

The tech company announced that it’s launching a Developer Space within its Google Singapore office to bring together resources for developers, entrepreneurs and community groups in the region.
According to a company blog post, the new location will help provide “insights, hands-on mentorship and networking opportunities with various teams” at its Asia Pacific headquarters.
Walmart Looks to Reduce Plastic Packaging Waste
The retailer announced a new set of commitments to reduce plastic waste through its private label brand packaging.
The new commitment will affect over 30,000 SKUS.
According to a company press release, one of its goals include achieving 100 percent recyclable packaging for its private label brands by 2025.
