DoubleTree by Hilton Looks to Expand in the Asia Pacific Region
The hotel chain announced that it plans to open properties “across China, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, Sri Lanka and New Zealand”.
The new properties will add to its global portfolio of approximately 560 existing hotels in over 45 countries.
According to a company press release, the expansion will help “accommodate the region’s thriving economic centers and growing tourism industries.”
Netflix Launches a Production Hub in Toronto
The video streaming company announced that its new sites will help “expand its production presence across Canada.”
It plans to launch two sites which according to a company press release, will “provide production jobs for up to 1,850 Canadians per year.”
The announcement adds to its physical production footprint in Canada, as it currently leases space in British Columbia and operates several production sites, on a production-by-production basis across the country.
Loom Raises New Funds
The corporate communications platform announced that it has raised an $11 million Series A round which was led by Kleiner Perkins, a venture capital firm which has invested in companies such as Airbnb, Slack, and Pinterest.
The new funds will help the company introduce new product offerings and help fuel its next stage of growth.
Loom, which was founded in 2016, works with clients in over 170 countries and helps businesses record, communicate, and collaborate using sharable videos.
