Nike Acquires a Data Science Company
The sportswear company announced that it has acquired Celect, a Boston-based retail predictive analytics and demand sensing firm.
The acquisition looks to provide the company with an advantage in consumer behavior through data-insights. As part of the deal, Celect will be part of Nike’s Global Operations team.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Amazon Looks to Offer Students Music Streaming for $0.99
The technology company announced that new and current Student Prime members can subscribe to its Amazon Music Streaming service for $0.99 a month.
Students who are not yet members of Amazon Prime can trial the service for 6-months.
Mastercard Announces a New Acquisition
The financial services company announced that it has “entered into an agreement to acquire the majority of the Corporate Services businesses of Nets”, a financial tech company based out of Europe.
The deal looks to strengthen Mastercard’s position in infrastructure, end-user applications, and value-added services.
The transaction is worth approximately $3.19 billion and will comprise of Net’s e-billing solutions, and its clearing and instant payment services.
