Amazon Launches an Initiative to Help Employees Start Their Own Package Delivery Business
The technology giant announced that the Delivery Service Partner program will help employees “start a small business owning and operating a package delivery company.”
The company stated that the “new incentive will fund the startup costs, up to $10,000, as well as the equivalent of three months of the former employee’s last gross salary so employees-turned-business-owners can more easily get their package delivery companies off the ground.”
WestJet Gets a New Owner
Onex Corporation has agreed to acquire the airline. As part of the deal, WestJet will operate as a privately-held corporation.
The airline announced that the all-cash transaction is valued at approximately $5 billion, including WestJet’s debt.
The company will remain headquartered in Calgary.

The email marketing company announced that its expanding its business by rolling out an all-in-one Marketing platform that looks to help small businesses.
Mailchimp’s new Marketing platform looks to offer a deeply integrated app experience that ties in Signup Forms, Landing Pages, and Social Advertising alongside its core email marketing solution.
