Capital One Announces a Data Breach

The financial services firm announced that an individual gained unauthorized access to certain types of personal information in relation to credit card product applications, and Capital One credit card users.

Based on the company’s analysis, it has determined that the breach “affected approximately 100 million individuals in the United States and approximately 6 million in Canada.”

The company stated that it determined that the breach was on July 19th, 2019. According to the company, the person responsible has been arrested and is in custody.

Google Shares A Few Details of its Upcoming Pixel Phone

The technology company announced that it’s acquiring BlueTalon, an enterprise software company focused on data governance and privacy.

Microsoft stated in a company blog post that the deal will help its “ability to empower enterprises across industries to digitally transform while ensuring right use of data with centralized data governance at scale through Azure.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
