Just Eat’s CEO Steps Down

The restaurant delivery company announced that its Chief Executive Officer will leave the company, effective immediately.
According to a company press release, “Peter Plumb is stepping down as Chief Executive Officer and a Director of the Company.” He will be replaced by Peter Duffy who prior to the announcement was the company’s Chief Customer Officer. Duffy will serve as Just Eat’s Interim Chief Executive Officer.
The reason for Plumb’s departure was not stated. The announcement comes at a time when the company is facing increased competition from other restaurant delivery providers, such as Deliveroo and Uber Eats.
Knock, a Home Trade-in Platform Raises $400 Million

The company stated that it plans to use the new funds to expand nationwide in the United States, and invest in the development of its platform.
According to the company, it has experienced fast growth since it was founded, lauching in five US markets which include Dallas, Texas, Fort Worth, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia.
The Series B equity and debt financing round was led by the Foundry Group.
GameWorks Looks to Bring eSports to the Casino Industry
The entertainment company announced that it has partnered with SCCG Management, a casino industry consulting firm, “to bring venue-based, peer-to-peer wagering esports Lounges to casinos nationwide.”
As part of the agreement, the lounges, which are called Play by GameWorks, will allow guests to participate and compete in esports games.
According to IDG Consulting, the esports market is expected to reach $177-billion by 2022.
