Macy’s Looks to Hire Approximately 80,000 Employees for the Upcoming Holiday Season

The company announced that it’s hiring for positions at its Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s stores, call centers, distribution centers, and online fulfillment centers nationwide in the United States for the 2018 holiday season.

The company is expected to hold national hiring events on Thursday, October 18th.

According to TechCrunch, the company announced that it will be using the funds to help accel international and domestic growth in the United States, and also expand to more product categories.

The company, which was founded in 2016, currently employs approximately 300 workers in Detroit and 50 in Tempe, Arizona.

TechCrunch reports that StockX sees approximately $2 million in transactions each day with roughly 800,000 users who have sold or purchased items on the platform.

The company’s latest round of funding includes investors Google Ventures, Battery Ventures, and Salesforce Co-Founder Marc Benioff among others.


Hershey’s Acquires a Snack Brand for Over $400 Million

The company announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Pirate Brands.

According to a company press release, “Pirate Brands will operate within Amplify, Hershey’s better-for-you snacking hub in Austin, Texas, which is focused on driving growth in the warehouse snacking aisle with unique product flavors and forms like Skinny Pop, Paqui and Oatmega.”

The $420 million deal is expected to close before the end of the year.
