Snapchat announced that it’s launching Snap Originals, a selection of shows made exclusively for the platform.
The first set of shows include “Co-Ed, a new comedy from the Duplass Brothers; Class of Lies, a mystery thriller from one of the minds behind Riverdale; and Endless Summer, a docuseries following rising stars in Laguna Beach.”
The move looks to help increase activity on the platform as multiple reports suggest that the company’s user base is steadily declining due to increasing competition from other social networks such as Instagram.
Waze Announces a Carpool Feature

The GPS company announced that it’s rolling out, Waze Carpool, a carpool service that connects drivers with riders headed in the same direction.
The move looks to decrease traffic congestion in cities and is available nationwide in the United States.
Unlike ride-sharing services such as Lyft and Uber, the service simply connects users going to the same destination such as work or dedicated weekly events.
Airbnb Looks to Help Victims of Hurricane Michael
The home-sharing company announced that it’s activating its Open Homes Program for individuals affected by Hurricane Michael.
The company announced that it’s working with “government agencies and regional disaster relief organizations to connect Airbnb hosts with evacuees and emergency responders, free of charge.”
The program has been activated in select areas within Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. According to the company, the Open Homes Program will be available from now until October 29th, 2018.
