CVS Pharmacy Pilots a Membership Program
The retail division of CVS Health announced that it’s piloting CarePass, a membership loyalty program that “offers members a suite of in-store and online perks including free delivery on most medications and purchases, access to a 24/7 pharmacist hotline and 20% off all CVS Health brand products.”
CarePass will cost $5 a month. Customers can also purchase a yearly pass at $48 a year.
The pilot program will be available in approximately 350 CVS Pharmacy locations to customers in the Greater Boston area.
Pepsico Acquires a Plant-based Product Company
The company announced that it has acquired Health Warrior, a plant-based consumer goods company.
The acquisition helps Pepsico expands the company’s portfolio into a high-growth category.
As part of the deal, Health Warrior will be part of Pepsico’s HIVE program, which is focused on high-growth emerging brands.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Ford Launches Autonomous Vehicle Testing in China
Ford announced that it’s working with Baidu, a China-based Internet search giant, on a two-year project focused on autonomous vehicle testing.
The tests will be conducted on the roads of Beijing.
The partnership expands on a working relationship between both companies which include the exploration of opportunities in digital marketing, connectivity, and artificial intelligence.
