The wearable technology company announced that it is expanding its partnership with Solera Health, a healthcare services company, to help reduce the risk of Type 2 Diabetes.
The move is based on Solera Health’s analysis of over 1,700 National Diabetes Prevention Program participants that found Fitbit users as more active and lost more weight than those who did not.
According to a company press release, the “companies are making the latest Fitbit devices, Fitbit Inspire™ and Inspire HR™, available to all Solera Diabetes Prevention Program participants, including Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries.”

The organization will be led by Atul Gawande, a globally recognized surgeon, writer, and public health leader with over 20 years of experience.
