Vodafone Rolls out a 5G Network Across the UK
The telecommunications company is launching a 5G network in seven cities across the United Kingdom, including London, Manchester, and Liverpool.
Vodafone stated on its website that it plans to expand the network to 12 more cities across the region later this year.
5G technology is expected to be up to 10x faster than 4G with average speeds of 150-200 megabytes per second. The technology is expected to make a significant impact in healthcare, smart buildings, and cities.
Nestle Is Plans to use Blockchain Technology
The multinational food and beverage company announced that its collaborating with OpenSC, a blockchain platform for customers to verify sustainability in their food and track supply chain data.
The collaboration makes Nestle the first to pilot blockchain technology in this type of operation and will help the company move towards full transparency.
Nestle stated that it plans to use the technology to initially focus on tracing “milk from farms and producers in New Zealand to Nestlé factories and warehouses in the Middle East.”
Walmart China Plans to Invest $1.2 Billion in Logistics
The retail giant announced that it plans to upgrade or build 10 logistics distribution centers in China over the next 10 to 20 years.
Walmart launched in the Chinese market in 1996 with its first store location in Shenzhen.
The company “currently operates a variety of formats in China, including shopping malls, Sam’s Club stores, and Huisafe supermarkets.”
