The US, Canada Reach an Agreement on a New Trade Deal
US and Canada Joint Statement

The United States and Canada released a joint-statement on a “new, modernized trade agreement for the 21st Century” that looks to replace the previous NAFTA trade deal made in effect in 1994.

According to the joint-statement, the new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement looks to give “workers, farmers, ranchers, and businesses a high-standard trade agreement” resulting in “freer markets, fairer trade and robust economic growth”.

Details on specifics were not outlined in the joint statement.


Elon Musk Settles Fraud Charges

The Securities and Exchange Commission has reached an agreement with Elon Musk after it filed a lawsuit last week against Musk for fraud surrounding his tweets on taking Tesla private.

The settlement requires that Musk step down as Tesla’s Chairman, and both Musk and Tesla must pay $20 million each in penalties.

According to a press release by the SEC, “Musk and Tesla have agreed to settle the charges against them without admitting or denying the SEC’s allegations.”


Volkswagen Teams up with Microsoft
New Release

Microsoft announced that it’s partnering with Volkswagen to develop the Volkswagen Automotive Cloud. The partnership looks to build a global cloud platform that provides digital mobility services to Volkswagen drivers.

Volkswagen’s new cloud platform will be built using Microsoft’s Azure cloud and IoT Edge platform as its foundation.

The partnership looks to help Volkswagen differentiate itself as a software and associated services automaker transforming it into a digital services-driven business.
