Visa becomes the Official Payment Technology Partner of New York Fashion Week
The company announced that as the Official Payment Technology Partner of NYFW it will provide consumers with new ways to pay, including providing attendees with the ability to make retail payments through contactless cards and devices.
The company looks to roll out vending machines that feature items from New York-based female designers, including Rebecca Minkoff, Venessa Arizaga, and Neely & Chloe.
New York Fashion Week runs from September 6th to the 14th.
BMW Plans to Roll out an AI-based Personal Assistant
The company announced that it plans to launch a personal assistant powered by AI.
Starting in March 2019, BMW drivers and passengers will be able to operate their car and access its functions and information by simply speaking.
According to a company press release, the “personal assistant will also be able to assist the driver outside their vehicle, whether it’s at home with the help of a smart speaker or out and about via a smartphone.”
Daniel Zhang will succeed Jack Ma and will take the role of chairman in September 2019.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Ma, who co-founded the China-based tech giant in 1999, will focus his time on educational philanthropy.
His retirement was announced amid increased trade tensions between China and the United States.
