The State of Ohio Becomes the First to Accept Bitcoin for Tax Payments

The Wall Street Journal reports that businesses in the State of Ohio will now be able to log onto OhioCrypto.com to pay business-related taxes. The report outlines that the service will eventually be made available to individual filers.

According to TechCrunch, the states of Georgia, Illinois, and Arizona have also considered accepting bitcoin as a form of payment for taxes; however, the initiatives did not proceed further past state legislatures.


FedEx Acquires 1,000 Electric Vehicles

The global logistics company announced that “it is expanding its fleet to add 1,000 Chanje V8100 electric delivery vehicles”.

According to a company press release, “FedEx is purchasing 100 of the vehicles from Chanje Energy Inc and leasing 900 from Ryder System, Inc.”

The vehicles will be used for commercial and residential deliveries within the United States.


Kroger Has Announced its New High-Tech Customer Fulfillment Centre

The retail grocer announced that it will open its fulfillment center in Monroe, OH, a suburb north of Cincinnati. The initiative which is in partnership with Ocado, a UK-based company that offers automated warehouse facilities, “will measure 335,000 square feet and is expected to generate more than 410 new jobs”.

According to a company press release, Kroger will invest $55 million towards the new fulfillment center.
