Silicon Valley Gets a New Stock Exchange
The SEC approved the Long-Term Stock Exchange’s application to register as a national securities exchange.
The approval gives the exchange the green light to become the 14th registered stock exchange operating in the United States.
It looks to cater to tech startups focused on long-term innovation and seeding future growth over short-term profits. It has been backed by several influential tech heavyweights including Marc Andreessen, the co-founder of Netscape and General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz.
Facebook Launches a New Creative Birthday Greeting Feature
The social media giant announced that it’s launching a feature on Facebook Stories that lets friends and family create and add “digital birthday cards, photos or videos to a story” to celebrate a user’s birthday.
The company stated that over 500 million users use Facebook Stories every day.
LVMH Teams up with Rihanna to Launch a New Luxury Brand
The luxury goods conglomerate announced that it has partnered with musical artist, Rihanna, to create a new luxury brand that will be based in Paris.
The brand, which will be named Fenty, will be focused on luxury shoes and accessories.
Fenty is set to debut later this Spring.
