Spotify Expands its Partnership with Samsung
The music streaming platform announced that it’s expanding its working relationship with Samsung by pre-installing its music service on new Samsung mobile devices.
The move is an effort to increase its consumer base and let Samsung users easily enjoy the latest podcasts and music as soon as they turn on their new phone.
As part of the expanded strategic partnership, “Spotify will be pre-installed on millions of new Samsung mobile devices globally” and “Eligible consumers with select Samsung devices in the U.S. will qualify for six months of free Spotify Premium.”
Netflix’s Chief Marketing Officer Steps Down
The on-demand movie platform announced that Kelly Bennett will be leaving the company.
Bennett joined the company in 2012 and has led the company’s marketing efforts growing its paid member base from 26 million to more than 139 million.
The reason for Bennett’s departure were not disclosed.
Mastercard Acquires a Global Money Transfer Network
The financial services company announced that “it has entered into an agreement to acquire Transfast, a global cross-border account-to-account money transfer network.”
According to a company press release, the deal will complement Mastercard’s payment solutions “by increasing worldwide connectivity in the account-to-account space, enhancing compliance capabilities and offering more robust foreign exchange tools.”
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
