Amazon Invests in an Electric Truck Company

Rivian an electric vehicle automaker announced a $700 million equity investment round led by Amazon.

According to a report by CNBC, the company plans to launch its electric pickup line by 2020, with pre-orders currently available via its website.

Amazon’s investment into the company comes just over a week after it joined other groups with investing in Aurora, a Palo-Alto based, self-driving technology company.


Coca-Cola Appoints a New Chief People Officer

The consumer beverage company announced that Lisa Chang will lead its global human resource operations.

According to a company press release, “Chang most recently served as senior vice president and chief human resources officer for AMB Group LLC in Atlanta.”

Her role will be effective on March 1st, 2019.


Starbucks Launches its First Reserve Bakery Cafe in China

The coffeehouse chain announced that it will launch the new cafe that will feature its “Starbucks Reserve® coffees served alongside artisanal and made-to-order food.”

The new Shanghai location will be the first out of more than 3,700 stores in 158 cities in China that will offer all-day dining menu options from breakfast to brunch to early evening cocktails.
