IKEA Expands its Smart Home Offering
The retailer announced that it’s establishing a smart home business unit that will be responsible for incorporating digital technologies and elements into its products and services.
The business unit will initially focus on the areas of smart lighting, smart sound, and wireless charging.
Uber Partners with Campus Safety Organizations
The on-demand transportation company announced that it’s teaming up with the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators, the National Crime Prevention Council and Young Minds Inspired organization to help support campus safety initiatives for college students across the US and Canada.
As part of the collaboration, the company stated that will be introducing the Campus Safety Fund, a program that looks to provide monetary support for university and college transportation programs.
Banana Republic Launches a Subscription Service
The fashion retailer announced that it’s launching a new program called Style Passport, an unlimited access women’s apparel subscription service.
According to a company press release, the new service will be $85 per month for “a three-garment plan that includes free priority shipping, unlimited exchanges and returns, and complimentary laundering services.”
The new service is expected to roll out in the United States by the end of September. The company stated that it expects to rollout a Men’s option at a later date.
