Barnes & Noble Fires its CEO
Company Press Release

The company announced that it terminated Demos Parneros for violating company policy.

A team has been formed to help share with the CEO responsibilities while the company searches for a replacement.

Barnes and Noble did not indicate specifics on the termination, however, clarified that firing was not due to any disagreement with the Company regarding its financial reporting, policies or practices or any potential fraud.

He did not receive severance and has been removed from the company’s Board of Directors.


Amazon Announces Prime Day

Bloomberg – 2017 Prime Day 

The company announced that Prime Day, a day that offers discounts and sales on products available on the site, will start at 112 pm on July 16th and will last until the 17th.

In addition to online sales, Whole Foods Market will join in Prime Day deals at all U.S. stores.

Amazon reported that in 2017 its members ordered more than 40 million items from its small and medium-sized business partners worldwide.

Last year Prime sales accounted for an estimated $1 Billion in revenue, this according to Bloomberg.


Porsche Reports June Sales
Company Press Release

Porsche Cars North America, an importer and distributor of the Porsche vehicles including the 911, Panamera, and Cayenne models, announced year-over-year growth of 8.3 percent citing sales of 4,892 vehicles in June.

According to the company, overall sales for the first half of 2018 are up 6.7 percent from a year ago to over 29,000 vehicles.
