UPS Pilots an eBike Delivery Service in Seattle
The company announced that it’s rolling out a battery-powered electric delivery service which will operate on the bike lanes of downtown Seattle.
The move looks to ease growing traffic congestion and address air quality concerns in the city.
The company stated that it worked with the “Seattle Department of Transportation to develop plans for the new pilot program”. If successful, UPS hopes to expand the service to other parts of the city.
Its first eBike solution was launched in Hamburg, Germany in 2012 which has since expanded to 30 major cities across the globe.
Airbnb Sees Growth in its Experiences Product
Airbnb announced that users over the age of 60 who offer Experiences such as baking, hiking, and painting have grown by nearly 1,110% over the past year.
The company also stated that “the number of Experience bookings made by guests age 60+ has grown by 260% in the last year.”
According to the company, Social Impact experiences are the most hosted category by the age group.
Ford Announces a Recall on Over a Million Vehicles
The company announced that it’s recalling approximately 1.5 million Ford Focus units.
The automobile manufacturer stated that the issues stem from problems with its fuel tank which “could lead to a stall while driving and/or an inability to restart the vehicle.”
The recall affects US, Canada, and Mexico models made between 2012 and 2018.
