Ford Acquires a Scooter Company
The automobile manufacturer announced that it has acquired Spin, “a San Francisco-based electric scooter-sharing company that provides customers an alternative for first- and last-mile transportation”. The company operates in “13 cities and campuses across the US.”
The acquisition looks to help Ford capture market share in growing mobility trends.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Walgreens Looks to Hire 5,000 Veterans
The company announced that it’s working with Southern New Hampshire University to “provide career and educational opportunities for 5,000 U.S. veterans over the next five years.”
Veterans who complete the program will be provided with in-store leadership roles and opportunities for advancement.
Participants of the program will also have the opportunity to obtain a “bachelor’s or master’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University at a significant discount.”
P&G Announces Organizational Changes
The company announced that it’s introducing a new management structure that will “operate though six industry-based Sector Business Units” for its largest geographic markets which will each be “led by Sector Business Unit CEOs”.
The move looks to drive simplicity, productivity, and cost savings to fuel investments and margin.
The organizational changes, which will be effective July 1st, 2019, will help P&G achieve “faster top-line growth, increased consumption, and market share growth.”
