Airbnb Looks to Support Federal Employees Affected by the Government Shutdown
The home sharing company announced that it’s offering financial support to federal branch employees who host homes through its platform.
According to the company, “executive branch employees who share their home for three nights anytime over the three months between December 18, 2018 and March 18, 2019 will get paid an extra night”.
The amount equals up to $110 which is the average per night income by US hosts.
Square Introduces a Free Debit Card for Businesses
The financial services company announced that it’s launching a free business debit Mastercard to help ease cash flow management for companies.
According to a company press release, the new Square card will help eliminate the amount of time between making a sale and having the funds available.
In addition to the launch, the new card offers sellers with a 2.75% instant discount on purchases made at other businesses who use Square to sell goods.
Walmart Expands its Grocery Delivery Service
The multinational retail company announced that its working with 4 delivery startups to help expand its online grocery delivery service.
Walmart has established grocery delivery agreements with logistics companies Point Pickup, Skipcart, AxleHire and Roadie.
The grocery delivery option is currently available at over 800 locations across the United States with plans for 800 more locations to be added later this year.
