Marriott International Looks to Aggressively Expand into the Asia Pacific Region
The hospitality company announced that it plans to have 1000 hotels open by the end of 2020.
The move is expected to generate over 50,000 new jobs in the region. The company plans to “capitalize on global travel trends in China, India, and Indonesia.”
Marriott International’s portfolio in the Asia Pacific region “currently encompasses over 710 properties in 23 countries and territories, operating under 23 of the company’s 30 global brands.”
Whatsapp for Business Launches on the iPhone

The messaging platform announced that business owners who own iPhones will now be able to use Whatsapp for Business. The app will be “free to download from the Apple App Store and will include features to help small businesses and customers communicate.”
The company stated that the Android version of Whatsapp for Business has already been adopted by millions of businesses around the globe.
The initial rollout will be available to iPhone users in “Brazil, Germany, Indonesia, India, Mexico, the U.K. and the U.S.” The company stated that it plans to launch the new product to other countries in the coming weeks.
Adidas Teams up with Beyoncé
The sportswear brand announced that it’s working with Beyoncé in a multi-layered partnership that looks to inspire and empower creators, co-create new products, and identify new business opportunities.
As part of the partnership, the artist will be a “creative partner for the brand, develop new signature footwear and apparel”, as well as relaunch her athleisure clothing line, Ivy Park, on a global scale.
