Amazon Announces Financial Results for the First Quarter of the Year
The tech company announced that its Q1 sales are up 17% to $59.7 billion, “compared with $51.0 billion in first quarter 2018.”
A few highlights from the quarter include the adoption of over 30 million active users of its Fire TV product, increased international growth of its Amazon Alexa product, and the launch of over “ 50 new and enhanced tools designed for SMBs to help build their business in Amazon’s stores.”
Snap Appoints a New Chief Marketing Officer
The messaging company announced that it has named Kenny Mitchell as its new CMO.
According to a press release, Mitchell “will lead all consumer and product marketing programs.”
He joins Snap from McDonald’s USA, where he served as the Vice President of Brand Content & Engagement, guiding “the company’s strategic brand and consumer marketing agenda in the US.”
Coursera Raises a New Round of Funding

The funds will help the company expand internationally and accelerate the development of its platform.
Coursera currently “serves 40 million learners, 1,800 businesses, and over 150 top universities.“
